We invite all humanists – members or supporters – to a picnic in Hyde Park to meet in person (yes!), to eat and drink, and to celebrate the change of season from Spring to Summer.
Bring food and drink that you like. If it is safe and appropriate to share, then we may do so
If you wish, bring poems, readings, thoughts, memories and music (musical instruments too, a guitar is fine but maybe not a grand piano). The theme is summer and the change of seasons. Bear in mind that we will be in an open and public space.
The picnic will be held in Hyde Park starting at 2pm on Sunday 20th June and will continue as long as people want. We plan to meet on the grass near to the Italian Gardens. The Italian Gardens are at the head of the Serpentine near to the Lancaster Gate station and we will be to the left as you come into the park from Bayswater Road.
Some Covid restrictions will still be in place, we will still be in Step 3, so if we have more than 30 people we will split into 2 picnics to meet the guidelines.
We will invite our usual voluntary donation of £3 to help cover the costs of our speaker meetings, annual Meetup fees, and the group’s membership of various national and international humanist bodies.
