Tibet: human rights and independence

Constituting a first for CLHG, we will examine the social justice and human rights situation in Tibet, and what conscientious positions can be taken by us in the UK in this respect.

To assist us in this, we will be joined by Eleanor Byrne-Rosengren and John Jones, respectively the director, and campaigns and communications manager, for the UK non-profit Free Tibet (https://freetibet.org/about-us).

N.B. this event was originally scheduled for earlier this year, but had to be postponed to this new date in June.

We kindly ask for £3 cash per head, collected upon entry to the event. This helps towards the hire of the venue and equipment. To pay in advance online, or just to donate to CLHG, use this link (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=ZWCNRJ25BDL96).

We run a drinks and snacks bar at the event, the evening’s bar profits will be donated to Free Tibet.

Events are advertised on multiple online portals and through email, so RSVP numbers on any one portal may not be fully indicative of the greater attendance on the day.

We encourage dialogue, debate, and sharing of information, but ask people to keep their comments cordial. Any individual’s views expressed here do not necessarily reflect the views of the group at large.
